Founded in 2010 by artist and educator Shanna Hamilton, Kids Art Studio was created from a simple belief: every child deserves the opportunity to explore their creativity, discover their unique artistic voice, and experience the joy of making something of their very own.
What began as a small home-based art program quickly grew into a vibrant community initiative. Over the years, Shanna has brought creative programs to schools, community centres, youth organizations, and families throughout the Victoria area, inspiring thousands of children and young people to discover the arts.
Kids Art Studio is more than an art class—it is a place to explore, experiment, create, and connect. Through painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and imaginative projects, children are encouraged to develop artistic skills while building confidence, independence, problem-solving abilities, and a genuine appreciation for creativity.
Shanna's teaching journey has included partnerships with local school districts, community organizations, and BC Children's Hospital, where students participated in the Kids Helping Kids initiative by creating uplifting artwork for young patients. She has also developed programs supporting youth and families from diverse communities, directed community art projects, organized student exhibitions, created murals, and helped bring large-scale collaborative art projects to life.
With a Diploma in Graphic Design and a diverse background encompassing fine arts, painting, sculpture, life drawing, art history, photography, 3D design, and creative design, Shanna brings a wealth of artistic experience and enthusiasm to every class.

At Kids Art Studio, there is no expectation that every child will create the same thing or be "perfect." Instead, students are encouraged to discover their own ideas, make mistakes, try new techniques, and let their imaginations lead the way.
Whether your child is picking up a paintbrush for the first time or already loves to create, our studio provides a welcoming, encouraging, and inspiring environment where young artists can grow at their own pace.
From colourful paintings and imaginative drawings to sculpture, mixed media, and collaborative projects, every class offers a new opportunity to learn something, create something, and leave feeling proud of what they've accomplished.
